No money, no time and no hope.. They were happy to see Wesley in this state and boasted about how good they were. Meetings went on for
hours with so called gentlemen with long sleeve shirts
and ties shouting "Wesley to the fore", "Ora et labora",
"Zam Zam Zake", "we are the best", " we are
the most capable". They hated criticism and didn't like
when others told them that there's another way to
improve the school. Blind leading the blind didn't help
the school at all.

Then came the principal they are not very comfortable with.. Look at the change in just 18 months... Egos , ignorance and stupidity replaced with proactive leadership & proper management. Cheque book was taken away from "Well - fare" and brilliant brains helped Wesley progress 15 years backward over the last 5 years didn't provide leadership and "Godayata Magic" group was asked to take a breather.

Pathetic state of the hostel in 2008

Hostel just 18 months later - August 2010Cleaned, repaired and repainted for the benefit of hostellers and visiting teams.
Mahendra sends out emails to please overseas audience (pic Darryl Koch)... while we plan to get into the grade 1 admission interview panel to ease the work load of the principal...purely for the love of the school..
VERY CLEAN COLLEGE PREMISES
Dr. Shanti McLelland didn't go behind people begging for funds and mercy. Yet he managed to initiate so many projects and training programs. The most capable school principal in Sri Lanka today.
