    Dear Azahim

Thank you and others for your kind thoughts and prayers. You will be sad to hear that our father died on Monday 6th February. He died quietly in his own bed at Homewood and my sister Dorothy was with him. He was very tired and was ready to leave this life so it is a comfort to us to know that he is now at rest and at peace. He was a remarkable man who lived a remarkable life and it is good to know that despite his long life there remain people like yourself who remember him as he was in his prime and who respects and value the life that he lived.

The funeral is to be at Dale Street Methodist Church, Leamington Spa, at mid day on Wednesday 22nd Feb - we do not of course expect you to attend but hope that if you can pass this information to those who knew him then perhaps your thoughts could be with us on that day.

    With good wishes

    Jenny

Dear Azahim and all your colleagues at Wesley College OBU

During the last 6 months my father has had many falls, some resulting in hospital visits - although his recovery always astonishes both us, his family and medical staff he is now very frail, very deaf and liable to get confused. In the light of this I do hope you will forgive me for deciding not to pass on your request to him this year. He is now approaching his 97th birthday and on clear days will still talk of Sri Lanka and his time at Wesley College with great and abiding affection He always expresses both surprise and delight that he continues to be remembered all these years later by those 'old boys' who once knew him.

As ever thank you for your interest and I know he would want me to send his good wishes to you all as you meet together and if you wish to relay my words to the assembled company then we would be glad to know that he was in some way there with you all.

    Best Wishes

    Jenny
