October 2008 at Shenley Cricket Center. Welsey was captained by Jehan Jaldin ( a former Wesley
Rugby Captain). Wesley did well to enter the Semi's.

To celebrate and honour the life of Dr Shee Hung Yu (15th October 2008 at 2.30pm)

There was a large gathering of family and friends at the Highgate Cemetery despite the autumn rains to pay their final respects to Dr Yu. Opened in 1839 the cemetery and its building are listed by English Heritage as a place of outstanding historical and architectural interest. There is no better place to lay to rest Dr Yu for his enormous help and services to his family, patients and friends. The sombre Buddhist ceremony was followed by family Eulogies at the graveside. After this brief ritual family and friends gathered at the Old Crown Pub at Highgate Hill for food and refreshments. The family had arranged a Sri Lankan caterer to provide the guests with Dr Yu’s favourite food. This was a fitting celebration of his life which Dr Yu would have approved. There was a fine Eulogy by Senthil Sinniah, the President of the Wesley College OBU-UK, on behalf of the school and the worldwide brotherhood of Wesleyites. This was followed by emotional eulogies by two grateful patients. The old boys who had gathered had the opportunity to reminisce and also meet Dr Shee Hung Yu’s family. It was a fitting farewell to a loyal old boy of the school, a caring doctor and an irreplaceable member of his family.
We thank Dr Yu’s family for allowing the Wesley College OBU-UK to be represented at this sombre occasion and also for providing the refreshments and food for the many who arrived from far and wide. They have most kindly made provision to give all donations they receive to the Wesley College OBU-UK, a very generous gesture indeed. Finally we thank Wimal De Silva, who as always, worked in the background helping Dr Yu’s family in their grief and arranging the catering services.

May Dr Yu Attain the Ultimate Bliss of Nirvana
